Esperanza College was birthed from a tugging at the heart to impact the lives of people beyond the Sunday morning pulpit. It was, and is, a college unique to any other; an institution of redemption, grace and hope. This tug was felt by a group of Hispanic pastors in North Philadelphia in 1982 as they rallied together to serve a community suffering from poverty, unstable housing, low educational attainment, and high crime. The result was the creation of the Hispanic Clergy and in 1987, they developed a non-profit organization, called Nueva Esperanza Inc.

How can I apply for Student Aid/Financial Aid?

First fill out the FAFSA on-line application. Then after completing the FAFSA application and applying to Esperanza College you can make an appointment with our Student Services Financial Office to find our your personal cost of attendance. What is the FAFSA?

The FAFSA is the acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is an application that determines the student financial aid eligibility in the Unites States. This application asks for financial information to help the federal government determine the amount of student aid for which you could be eligible. To fill out this form go to the FAFSA website: www.fafsa.ed.gov. Esperanza College’s FAFSA school code is 003259 (under Eastern University).

When is the FAFSA Deadline?

The FAFSA application deadline is May 1. The Department of Education starts accepting FAFSA applications as early as January 1 of every year. Students are advised to complete this application as early as possible; preferably before May 1 of every year to be eligible for the best possible financial aid package.

Are there any scholarships, grants, & loans that I can apply for?

Every student that attends Esperanza College receives our Esperanza Grant that covers over 50% of tuition! You can be eligible to receive other grants and loans by filling out the FAFSA application.
