History

Esperanza College was birthed from a tugging at the heart to impact the lives of people beyond the Sunday morning pulpit. It was, and is, a college unique to any other; an institution of redemption, grace and hope. This tug was felt by a group of Hispanic pastors in North Philadelphia in 1982 as they rallied together to serve a community suffering from poverty, unstable housing, low educational attainment, and high crime. The result was the creation of the Hispanic Clergy and in 1987, they developed a non-profit organization, called Nueva Esperanza Inc.

Hold up! First things first. What’s a FAFSA anyway?

Good question. FAFSA is the acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is the form that determines the student financial aid eligibility in the Unites States. This form asks for financial information to help the federal government determine the amount of student aid for which you could be eligible.

FAFSA application deadline is May 1
The Department of Education starts accepting FAFSA applications as early as January 1 of every year. Students are advised to complete this application as early as possible; preferably before May 1 of every year to be eligible for the best possible financial aid package.

FAFSA school code: 003259 (Eastern University)
