Science classes include laboratory work for hands-on experience and a research project to build a portfolio in math and science. Students are also encouraged to be mentors for one of our high school Robotics or Chemistry clubs.
Enriching activities outside of the classroom are also made available to students. Among these are in the Hunting Park Science Network, the Philadelphia Science Festival, as well as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Students of higher-caliber research projects may also be encouraged to present these in academic environments. Upon matriculation into the program students will be informed by the Program Director of experiences outside of the classroom they can participate in to enhance their learning and preparation for their field.
