FAQs for Financial Aid
The FAFSA is the acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is an application that determines the student financial aid eligibility in the United States. This application asks for financial information to help the federal government/ school determine the amount of student aid for which you could be eligible. To fill out this form go to the FAFSA website: www.fafsa.ed.gov. Esperanza College’s FAFSA school code is 003259 (under Eastern University).
An FSA ID gives you access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as your legal signature. Learn how to create an FSA ID by visiting www.studentaid.gov.
The deadline to submit the FAFSA in order to be considered for Pennsylvania’s state grant is May 1. The Department of Education starts accepting FAFSA submissions as early as October 1 of every year. Students are advised to complete this application as early as possible; preferably before May 1 of every year to be eligible for the best possible financial aid package. Pennsylvania will sometimes award the state grant to students after the deadline on a first-come, first-serve basis if funding is still available upon an appeals process, so students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible even if they already missed the deadline.
Every student that attends Esperanza College receives our Esperanza Grant, which for full time students covers over 50% of tuition! You can be eligible to receive other grants and loans by filling out FAFSA. There are also other outside scholarships for which you may qualify and apply. Click here for more information.
