Uncategorized

This passed Saturday, March 23, Esperanza College partnered with Women for a Healthy Environment to host a Professional Development training for 44 ECE teachers and administrators called “Eco-Healthy Child Care® – Protecting Children’s Environmental Health”. Attendees earned 3 hours towards their mandated PD hours, as well as each center receiving 2 points towards their Keystone STARS ratings. Attendees learned why children are uniquely vulnerable to common environmental health hazards found in the early learning environment (e.g., lead, pesticides, household chemicals, unsafe plastics), and received practical and no-to-low-cost strategies for preventing children’s exposures to toxins. Each center who participated will be granted free eco-healthy cleaning supplies from Women for a Healthy Environment.
